Flying Home For Thanksgiving?

So my kids are out for Thanksgiving break (their school is out for the week, not just two or three days)… I started writing some tips for people who are driving somewhere for Thanksgiving… but what about those of you who are flying?  I know there are many of you out there who are flying somewhere for Thanksgiving (I know because I have made arrangements for a few of you!  LOL)… what tips are there for you?

So Travel + Leisure magazine has an article that has a few tips for you, based off of tips that the TSA have on their website…

1- Don’t forget your mask… in fact, bring extra!

2- You can now bring up to 12 ounces of hand sanitizer in your carry-on luggage.  Just be prepared to remove it from your carry-on for special screening.

3- Yes… you can bring food.  But there are some special steps you will need to take when bringing food through the security checkpoint.  Click HERE to see the TSA tips on bringing food with you on the airplane.

4- Enroll in the TSA PreCheck®.  Did you know that travelers who are enrolled in the TSA PreCheck® program don’t have to remove their shoes, belts and jackets?  Talk about convenient!  And it reduces touchpoints!  Now… if you apply now, you probably won’t be eligible for Thanksgiving travel, but you have a chance of being eligible for Christmas travel!  Click HERE to apply or renew your TSA PreCheck®.

So for those of you who are traveling during Thanksgiving, be safe!   If you’re in the airport and on flights, don’t forget a smile and an extra dose of patience!
